Michael 'Iron Mike' Almebäck (born 4 April 1988 in Stockholm) is a Swedish footballer who currently plays for Club Brugge in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. He is a central defender.
After being rejected by IF Brommapojkarna, Almebäck received an opportunity to play at Örebro SK and the move was a success. Almebäck's breakthrough season was in 2009, when he made up part of the Örebros 4-3-3 defense line. He was one of Örebros best players that season and Almebäck was awarded as Örebro SK:s 'Player of the Year' that season. After the summer break 2009, Almebäck was nominated to the award "Newcomer of the Year" in Swedish football. In the end he did not win the prize.
In the summer of 2011, Almebäck signed for Belgian title contenders Club Brugge, where he immediately became a regular first team player.
